Perfection or obsession?

Since I do not remember when I've been a big fan of most of Asian culture, and often I’ve seen pictures of Asian girls, especially Korean who are seemingly perfect: beautiful faces, slender bodies and pretty dolly eyes. But, why was the nature so unfair and it only had made them beautiful. While not all people born in those countries are beautiful but we can find lots of pictures of "average girls" with perfect shapes.

Suddenly so much beauty began to raise suspicions and the answer was not long in coming to light because it was too obvious after the boom that had the k-pop (Korean pop) in much of the world.

When I knew the answer, I couldn't believe: Plastic Surgery, ok, I know there isn't something out of this world today is quite common to hear that an artist underwent any surgery but is kind of normal for artists of these countries have more than one or two surgeries, these people seem to have an obsession with being perfectly beautiful. This obsession has spread to all people who compare with the precious ones to feel repulsive about themselves.

According to statistics South Korea is the country where most people get a facelift.

The most popular surgeries are:

Double eyelids and ‘cutting corners’

Forehead and Chin implants

 Calf muscle reduction

These girls are often strongly criticized as "fake", it certainly has a strong self-esteem problem however I do not think humble them is the best way to confront their problem, they have feelings too not only silicone,  if they do not feel comfortable with their faces or their bodies are free to do what they want with them, I respect that decision, but I also think you have to take into consideration all the risks that many operations can cause. Personally I wouldn´t take as an option to use plastic surgery unless it was a reconstructive surgery due to damage by an accident.

what is your opinion about surgeries?

  1. Wow amazing pictures! I think it´s caused by the marketing, the uditory and visual pollution of media and other point is caused for the lack of self-esteem that are given to youth from childhood, both at school and at home. This situation is usual in Japan but also is happening in Mexico. See you Kari. Great post. =D

  2. Awesome...
    First, excellent post

The way I see it, for ever (and ever) people have wanted changed emocional and phisically. The reason for that is Programs Television, Movies and others have been created "stereotypes" that they are considered "the Perfect body that all people need". That's why They need sale their products. They are "Playing" with our defects and self-distrust.
